NM LLC for owning share in business

I am thinking about investing money in a friends business. Is there a reason NOT to use a NM LLC as the shareholder for my interest in this business? I plan on talking to my accountant obviously, but thought this might be a good place to start in case someone here has done something similar.

An LLC is an excellent vehicle for doing business when others are involved. However, since the goal here is to make money rather than protect your privacy, I suggest you form the LLC in Oregon. Make sure to follow your accountant's advice as to the operatiing agreement.
