I'm not sure when George bought his SkypeOut time, but Skype has been advertising for a couple months now that SkypeOut minutes are free until the end of the year (12/31/2006). I haven't had to give ANY credit card info to Skype yet at all and I've made a whole bunch of free long-distance calls through them already. And almost all of the blanks on their sign-up form are optional and/or open to "creative interpretation". The only thing I really had to give them was an email address I think. You are also allowed to have multiple skype accounts with different user IDs. Their service has improved recently too. For awhile I had to use Netzero Voice whenever I wanted to make a call that required the use of touchtones after the call was connected, but now Skype calls include that service too. And a great-big thank-you to whomever suggested Privatephone!!! I've been very pleased with that service too!
