I am renting in my personal name because my landlord insisted on my SSN #. When I tried to sign up for utilities, the gas company also insisted on personal identificat Still,ion, including my SSN #. When I asked if I could get service in my LLC, they said they would need to see that the lease is in the name of the LLC. It's too late for me to go back and fix my error but I will try hard to remember this next time I move. However, I think in this market it's exceedingly difficult to find a landlord who will be sympathetic to privacy concerns.
