Robin, I believe you have over complicated this issue. From a law enforcement perspective, this is not an issue. Most insurance companies are located in a different state from the person being insured. When I look at my insurance card from Progressive, it does NOT show a home address. The only address on the card lists Tampa, FL 33631 as the location of Progressive Preferred Insurance Co. 99% of the time, the police officer only looks at the "Effective Date" of the policy. An extremely diligent officer will also look at the make/model/vin on the card and the name of the card holder. I don't recall ever seeing a card with a home address on it. Follow the law and live your life at peace...stop worrying so much. :)
