I'm getting an apartment with a friend of mine. As a favor to me, he has agreed to be the only name on the lease. We have yet to find an apartment, however, so I'm wondering whether a landlord would accept such a set-up (two tenants, only one on the lease), or if we should hide the fact that I'd be living there too when we tour apartments. Would the landlord assume that a young guy renting a 2BR apartment by himself is going to sublet, put it up for rent on Airbnb, etc.? Would a landlord even care about that or just about getting paid?
