computer anonymity
I am using your suggestions in HTBI like saving files on USB drives rather than the computer and I do have a hushmail email and will soon add a second private one.
I realize my next statements are long and may need to be deleted or made into a separate post at your discretion ( but I would love to hear how others feel about this and/or if they have experienced anything similar): The quest of so many to demonize simple privacy scares me. I was recently at a MN Best Buy and bought my computer with cash. They seemed very suspicious of me and actually dramatically held up each of the 14 hundred dollar bills I handed them, one by one to the light above their heads in an obvious fashion examining them and counting them with dramatic flair. So much for attempting to be discreet! They then asked for my drivers' license and I refused saying that by law a drivers' license wasn't required for a computer purchase. They then tried to trick me into revealing my name but I refused and finally left with my new computer with four or five men shaking their heads and whispering about me. This type of behavior makes me want to be even more private, which will make the general public even more suspicious of me. Just fyi, my appearance would not be the reason for this suspicion on their part. I look like a typical native American: fairly pretty, slim, with blond hair and blue eyes... no tattoos or piercings even except my ears... so I fit in with the demographic of the suburban area where I bought the computer. Thank you.
