Checking "yes" on your license to be an Organ and Tissue Donor does not put your info on a national list. The only place it will show is the DMV database. In the event you become deceased, your next of kin would be contacted if you were a viable donor and the process would proceed in following strict privacy protocols. The donor is actuall assigned and unique numerical ID# that is on all paperwork, and the only place the original name is listed is the originating donation agency that handles the donation process. All records are kept strictly confidential.
